Selection criteria

If you are interested in overseas opportunities with Austrade, you should be aware that Austrade’s selection criteria for Trade Commissioners include:

  • Understanding of both the government context for Austrade’s work and the needs of the businesses that we serve and advise
  • Sound understanding of international markets and business trends relevant to the market in which the role is located
  • Experience working in international markets, preferably including experience as a manager
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively represent Austrade in a range of high level corporate and government settings in Australia and offshore
  • Relevant language skills
  • Full selection criteria are set out in the documentation provided for each vacancy when advertised.

Key Account Manager, Indonesia

Opera Software is seeking an experienced professional sales person who can effectively manage and expand the relationships with Opera’s customers among internet companies, ads agencies, telecom operators and other partners in Indonesia.

The position will report to the Director of Sales. 

Success criteria:

  1. Create revenue through contract closings, bookings and billings
  2. Increase customer satisfaction
  3. Expand customer portfolio through expansion of the sales pipeline
  4. Ensure solid growth in revenue from existing customers
  5. Increase engagement of partners



  • Pioneer innovative commercial models to maximize profitability and differentiate our offerings
  • Negotiate and close new deals with various partners
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and networking forums
  • Manage key relationships with existing customers spread across Indonesia, with a goal of increasing revenue per customer and the reach of Opera’s products
  • Work closely with Operational and Product team to monitor ongoing delivery projects effectively
  • Gather and use feedback from customers to contribute to the Product Roadmap
  • Foster key relationships with customer middle and top management

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in digital advertising industry, selling ads inventories to various partners
  • Extensive network and contacts in internet companies, ads agencies, FMCG companies, telco operators, etc.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent in Business and/or Engineering 
  • Strong ability to communicate with all organization levels, including customers’ engineering teams, but especially customers' top management 
  • Technically and commercially competent with knowledge of the digital ads industry, Internet technologies or mobile industry 
  • Excellent track record and success in complex sales processes 
  • Ability to work in a team consisting of different persons with different backgrounds and different functional responsibilities 
  • Experience in an international business environment, working in a matrix organization involving global teamwork and cultural awareness 
  • Language skills: Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and spoken 
  • Interested in working in a fast-moving technical environment and taking on new challenges 
  • Able to work in unstructured environments, thus able to take ownership of projects 
  • A fast-moving individual, eager to win business and deliver results 
  • Dedicated and strongly focused on goals and targets 
  • A team player, creative and self-motivated

  • Bekerja sama dengan tim Operasional dan Produk untuk memantau proyek pengiriman yang sedang berjalan secara efektif
  • Kumpulkan dan gunakan umpan balik dari pelanggan untuk berkontribusi pada Roadmap Produk
  • Tingkatkan hubungan kunci dengan manajemen menengah dan atas pelanggan

Keterampilan dan Pengalaman yang Diinginkan

  • Setidaknya 3 sampai 5 tahun pengalaman di industri periklanan digital, menjual persediaan iklan ke berbagai mitra
  • Jaringan dan kontak yang luas di perusahaan internet, agensi iklan, perusahaan FMCG, operator telco, dll.
  • Gelar Bachelor / Master atau yang setara dalam Bisnis dan / atau Teknik 
  • Kemampuan yang kuat untuk berkomunikasi dengan semua tingkat organisasi, termasuk tim teknik pelanggan, namun terutama manajemen puncak pelanggan 
  • Secara teknis dan kompeten secara komersial dengan pengetahuan tentang industri iklan digital, teknologi internet atau industri mobile 
  • Rekaman dan kesuksesan yang sangat baik dalam proses penjualan yang kompleks 
  • Mampu bekerja dalam tim yang terdiri dari orang yang berbeda dengan latar belakang yang berbeda dan tanggung jawab fungsional yang berbeda 
  • Berpengalaman di lingkungan bisnis internasional, bekerja dalam organisasi matriks yang melibatkan kerja tim global dan kesadaran budaya 
  • Kemampuan bahasa: Bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris, baik tertulis maupun lisan 
  • Tertarik bekerja dalam lingkungan teknik yang bergerak cepat dan menghadapi tantangan baru 
  • Mampu bekerja di lingkungan yang tidak terstruktur, sehingga bisa mengambil alih kepemilikan proyek 
  • Individu yang bergerak cepat, sangat ingin memenangkan bisnis dan memberikan hasil 
  • Didedikasikan dan sangat fokus pada sasaran dan sasaran
